Saudi Arabia’s Enduring Support for Syrian Stability and Prosperity

Saudi Arabia’s support for Syria is a continuation of its firm positions and aims to help Syria achieve security, stability, progress, and prosperity, which the Syrian people aspire to. The Kingdom consistently calls for establishing security, which leads to prosperity.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince has played a significant role in this support. He welcomed the arrangements and measures announced by the Syrian President to contain recent events in Syria and expressed confidence in the Syrian government’s ability to achieve security under the President’s leadership. Furthermore, during US President Donald Trump’s visit to Riyadh, the Crown Prince made efforts to convince him to fully lift sanctions on Syria.

The Saudi Foreign Minister, acting under the direction of the Crown Prince, stated that Saudi Arabia would be a leader in providing economic support to Syria, emphasizing that “work to support Syria and its people will not stop”. The Kingdom’s stance also underscores the importance of continuing Syria’s efforts towards progress and prosperity for its brotherly people. Saudi Arabia maintains a firm position in supporting Syria and standing by its side, rejecting any actions that impact its civil peace or internal affairs. This includes condemning overt Israeli aggressions on Syrian territories and interference in its domestic matters. The sources describe Saudi Arabia’s role in Syria’s stability as clear.

Taif: Summer Bride of Saudi Arabia

Taif, known as “the Bride of Summer Resorts,” is a city renowned for its charming nature and moderate climate, making it a consistently attractive tourist destination.

Geographically, Taif is strategically located in the western part of the Kingdom, approximately 75 km from Mecca Al-Mukarramah. It is situated on the sides of Wadi “Waj” and is surrounded by mountains from all directions. Its elevation ranges between 1700m and 2500m above sea level, contributing to its pleasant weather and making it a long-standing summer resort for locals and nearby Hijazi cities like Mecca and Jeddah. The city also serves as the eastern gateway to the two Holy Mosques via Mecca and is a junction for roads connecting to all regions of the Kingdom. It includes two Miqats (points for pilgrims to don ihram) for those coming from Najd: Al-Sail Al-Kabeer for those from the central region, and Wadi Muharram for those from the south.

Historically, Taif was an ancient city with a strong wall, known as one of the three Arabic cities of poetry and literature before Islam, making it one of the oldest cities in the Arab lands. It was originally inhabited by the tribes of Adwan and Fahm, with Thaqif later joining them. It was a city of wealth and prosperity due to its abundant agricultural production, leading historians to consider it the second most important settlement after Mecca at the time. In modern history, Taif gained special significance as the summer retreat for the late founder King Abdulaziz, starting from 1343 AH, and subsequently for his sons, the kings who succeeded him. King Abdulaziz preferred Taif over the summer heat of Riyadh, the humidity of Jeddah, or the heat of Mecca, finding the climate in Taif and Al-Hawiya (near Taif) milder and less humid. He spent his last three summers in Al-Hawiya and Taif, eventually passing away in Al-Hawiya.

The climate of Taif is characterized by its coolness in summer and coldness in winter, especially in its southern fringes where temperatures can reach freezing point in its deserts. Its eastern and northern desert areas, however, see higher temperatures in summer. Rainfall is seasonal, often occurring in spring, and the air tends to be dry in the mountainous regions.

Taif is particularly famous for its production of roses and Taifi rosewater, as well as pomegranates and figs, which are renowned for their quality across the Arab countries.

In terms of education, Taif was home to the first formal school in the Kingdom, Dar Al-Tawhid School, which was established in 1364 AH by King Abdulaziz. He linked it directly to the Royal Court through the political section, granting it material and moral advantages and encouraging parents to send their children to school.

Key tourist attractions in Taif include:

  • Halima Al-Saadia Mosque: Located in Bani Saad, south of Taif.
  • Abdullah bin Abbas Mosque: Also south of Taif.
  • Souk Okaz: A historical market that has become one of the most beautiful cultural tourism destinations in the Kingdom.
  • Shisid Dam and Sarawat Historical Palace: Historical landmarks.
  • Al-Hada: Rising approximately 2000 meters above sea level, known for its cool and often cloudy weather.
  • Al-Shifa: Rising 2240 meters above sea level.
  • Dakka Mountain: A prominent elevated area.
  • Al-Radf Park: Located along Shihar Street, covering an area of 565 thousand square meters, featuring a water lake, gardens, and an open-air theater for events.
  • Historical Palaces: Taif is known for several ancient palaces.

Taif is currently undergoing a comprehensive developmental renaissance, with the municipality working on 38 developmental and tourism projects for 2025. The city launched its “Taif Summer 2025” activities, which included a visit by the Minister of Tourism and his deputy, as part of the “Saudi Summer” program aimed at enhancing tourist experiences. Data from Taif’s tourism sector shows that the number of local and international tourists visiting the city in 2024 exceeded 3.6 million, an increase of 9% compared to 2023, with an annual tourism expenditure of 3.4 billion riyals.

Safeguarding Children in the Digital Age: Saudi Arabia’s Vision

Digital protection has become a critical concern in the rapidly advancing digital age, as technology now forms an inseparable part of daily life for individuals, including children. The digital space, while offering significant opportunities for learning and interaction, also presents increasing challenges and risks, necessitating robust national and international frameworks for protection.

Saudi Arabia is making substantial efforts in digital protection, particularly concerning children, and is considered a leading global example in this field. These efforts are rooted in an ambitious and comprehensive vision, led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, as part of Saudi Vision 2030. This vision emphasizes balancing digital transformation with the protection of vulnerable groups, especially children.

A key Saudi initiative in this context is the global “Child Protection in Cyberspace” initiative, launched in October 2024. This initiative aims to establish a comprehensive global framework to protect children from internet dangers, empower countries to develop cybersecurity policies and legislation for children, and raise family and educational awareness about safe internet use. Its main pillars include international cooperation with bodies like UNICEF and the International Telecommunication Union, developing technical tools for early detection of harmful content, and launching public awareness campaigns targeting children, parents, and teachers. The initiative also focuses on supporting developing countries with technical, technological, and legislative assistance. Saudi Arabia hosted the Global Summit for Child Protection in Cyberspace in October 2024, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. This summit aimed to foster international cooperation for a safe cyber environment for children worldwide.

The Kingdom’s commitment to digital protection is further reflected in its support for a United Nations Human Rights Council resolution on child protection in cyberspace, which was adopted unanimously. This resolution translates the vision into practical steps to protect children in the digital space by promoting technical cooperation and capacity building. It emphasizes strengthening international cooperation, exchanging best practices, raising awareness, and developing necessary skills to ensure a safe digital environment for children.

Children face increasing challenges and risks in the digital space. These include:

  • Cyberbullying and online violence: Many children are exposed to cyberbullying, which can negatively affect their psychological well-being and academic performance.
  • Harmful content: Exposure to harmful content, such as hate speech or violence, can influence children’s beliefs and values.
  • Sexual exploitation and abuse: The internet can facilitate sexual exploitation and abuse of children, as it makes it easier for criminals to access them.
  • Data collection and privacy violations: Children’s personal data is often collected and used for marketing purposes without their or their parents’ consent, posing risks to their privacy and development. Companies like Vtech and TikTok have faced accusations of collecting children’s data without parental consent.
  • Excessive use and addiction: Excessive internet use can lead to addiction to electronic games or social media, impacting children’s physical and mental health.
  • Misinformation: Exposure to misleading information and conspiracy theories can affect children’s awareness and critical thinking skills.

To address these challenges, a collective responsibility involving governments, families, teachers, technology companies, and international organizations is essential. Specific measures and roles include:

  • Government and Legislative Role: Saudi Arabia has implemented its Child Protection System and its executive regulations to safeguard children from all forms of abuse or exploitation, including digital. This system aims to create a safe digital environment for children, with responsible entities committed to developing tools and programs for content monitoring and ensuring online platforms are age-appropriate. There is also a focus on strengthening laws against cyberbullying.
  • Family Role: Parents have a crucial role in digital protection. This includes guiding children, building trust, setting limits on content, participating in digital awareness courses, and utilizing parental control programs and protection software. Open communication between children and parents about online experiences is encouraged.
  • Educational Institutions Role: Educational institutions are responsible for enhancing digital awareness among children. This can be achieved by integrating digital safety concepts into curricula and training teachers on safe technology use. Schools should also be equipped to detect early warning signs of danger among students, such as sudden behavioral changes or decline in academic performance. The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the National Family Safety Program and UNICEF, has developed a skills toolkit for early detection and intervention in cases of child abuse and neglect.
  • Technological Solutions: Developing smart protection technologies, such as AI for monitoring harmful content and immediate reporting, age verification systems, and encryption, is vital to protect children’s data.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Broadcasting community awareness programs and public campaigns about cyberbullying, extortion, and digital addiction is essential. Organizing workshops and activities that promote digital citizenship and encourage children to participate in activities that enhance digital awareness are also important.

The rapid growth of technology necessitates a continuous effort to promote safe and responsible digital use, ensuring that the digital space remains a realm of opportunity for children rather than a threat to their innocence. This vision aligns with the broader goal of building a robust and integrated national digital infrastructure.

Saudi Women: Digital Guardians and Tech Pioneers

Saudi Arabia is making significant strides in women’s empowerment, driven by a comprehensive vision as part of Saudi Vision 2030. This vision aims to balance digital transformation with the protection of vulnerable groups, including children, and emphasizes enhancing women’s participation in all sectors. The Kingdom recognizes that empowering women is crucial for building a prosperous economy and a vibrant society for future generations.

In the digital sphere, Saudi Arabia is a leading global example in digital protection, with women playing a pivotal role. Saudi women are increasingly seen as digital guardians, shaping the relationship between children and the digital environment. Their role extends beyond traditional monitoring to active participation in guiding, building trust, and setting content limits for children. Saudi mothers engage in digital awareness courses and utilize parental control programs, leveraging national initiatives that aim to raise family awareness against digital dangers like cyberbullying, inappropriate content, and electronic extortion. This proactive role is considered essential in fostering a safe digital culture that starts within the home. The influence of a mother who interacts with technology mindfully and with balance tends to be emulated by her children, shaping their digital choices in the future. Women are actively contributing to the construction of secure electronic environments and the responsible shaping of digital behavior within society.

The empowerment of Saudi women in the technology sector is a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom’s comprehensive digital transformation journey. Women are increasingly recognized as an effective force contributing to the building of a sustainable and secure technological future. The leadership understands that investing in women’s capabilities not only enhances their professional role but also strengthens the digital security of the entire community, especially children, who are among the most affected by rapid digital changes. Initiatives and programs have been launched to train and qualify Saudi women in various tech fields, from programming and application development to cybersecurity and policy formulation. These efforts have not only opened doors for women but also fostered a stimulating work environment that supports creativity and innovation. Success stories of Saudi women in cybersecurity, programming, and application development serve as inspiring models, demonstrating their capability to tackle complex technical challenges and contribute to advanced digital solutions that enhance the safety of the electronic space. Women’s involvement in this sector is not limited to technical aspects; it extends to actively participating in building digital protection systems and formulating policies that govern technology use, making them strategic partners in shaping a secure digital future. Empowering women digitally is seen as a smart investment that positively impacts family and societal security and enhances the Kingdom’s ability to face future digital challenges with determination and confidence.

Despite these achievements, women’s empowerment in technology has faced challenges, including societal acceptance, limited opportunities, and discrimination in certain work environments. The historical scarcity of female role models in this field made it difficult for many young girls to envision success. Balancing work and personal life also poses a challenge, especially given the demanding nature of some tech jobs. The number of women in leadership and senior administrative positions in tech companies remains limited compared to men. However, with increasing societal awareness and governmental support, these challenges are diminishing, and internal company policies are becoming more comprehensive and flexible towards working women.

Government initiatives have played a pivotal role in supporting and empowering women in the tech sector, including specialized programs in cybersecurity, training for female graduates, and tech bootcamps. Programs supporting innovation and tech entrepreneurship among women have also been launched. Universities and research centers have contributed by developing modern tech curricula and encouraging female students to pursue computer science and AI specializations, narrowing the gender gap in the field.

Looking ahead, current trends supporting diversity and inclusion suggest a significant increase in the percentage of working women in tech in the coming years, driven by the expansion of the digital economy and major projects like NEOM and The Line. The emergence of new fields such as the metaverse, augmented reality, and cybersecurity will create unprecedented professional opportunities for women, in which they will play a fundamental role. Increased awareness of the value of gender balance in the workplace and societal and international pressure for women’s empowerment will push companies to adopt more equitable policies for working women.

In the sports sector, the trend of governments in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, is to empower women in sports. This aligns with broader national visions that see sports not just as entertainment or promotional tool but as a strategic choice for economic diversification and national development.

In historical context, the concept of “the writer woman” during the Renaissance era faced significant challenges, as highlighted by the book “Women and Literature in Britain 1500-1700”. The book explores how the concept of women writers intersected with complex cultural, societal, political, religious, and gender contexts, and how it challenged the era’s understanding of women’s roles. Many women writers struggled for their voices to be heard, with some resorting to translation as a refuge to bypass the prevailing patriarchal societal culture that suppressed their writings. This historical perspective emphasizes the long journey of women in securing their rights to self-expression and equal opportunities in intellectual and creative fields.

Chinese Cars: Driving Saudi Arabia’s Automotive Future

In Saudi Arabia, there has been a notable increase in the prevalence of Chinese cars, which have garnered significant attention from consumers and are now considered a serious option for many, especially due to their lower prices compared to Japanese and Korean cars in the Saudi market. The Chinese automotive industry has made substantial progress, with its vehicles now strongly competing, particularly in economic and mid-range segments. Brands like Geely, Changan, Haval, MG, and BYD are offering modern designs and advanced safety systems.

In response to challenges faced by consumers, the Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia held a meeting with representatives from Chinese automotive companies and the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom, along with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization. The purpose of this meeting was to address challenges related to after-sales services for Chinese car dealerships and to find urgent solutions. The discussion covered the current and future status of Chinese car sales and after-sales services, specifically addressing consumer complaints to enhance the quality of after-sales services given the growing sales of Chinese vehicles in the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Commerce has also conducted inspection visits to monitor dealerships’ compliance with the availability of spare parts and their prices on online platforms, which is regularly monitored. Dealerships that did not comply received notifications and a grace period to correct observed violations before legal penalties were imposed. The Ministry had previously launched a dealer assessment system based on four criteria, including the availability of cars, waiting lists, and the availability and pricing of spare parts and maintenance services, which are updated periodically.

Despite these efforts, some Chinese brands still face issues with “quality and durability,” particularly concerning interior materials, sound insulation at high speeds, and the availability of suitable spare parts. This makes it crucial for buyers to select brands with readily available spare parts, as the provision of spare parts and after-sales services is a significant concern for many considering a Chinese car. However, Chinese car dealerships in Saudi Arabia have begun focusing on establishing strong service and maintenance networks and offering parts at reasonable prices compared to Japanese or German cars.

Chinese cars are no longer seen as a temporary or marginal choice; they have become a genuine alternative, especially for those seeking a new car with advanced features at an affordable price. Their technology, design, and safety features have evolved, sometimes surpassing competitors in appearance and specifications. Regarding breakdowns, they are no more problematic than any other economic car, especially with proper use and regular maintenance. While some models may have recurring issues with suspension or insulation, most perform well, particularly in urban environments. The dealership and its after-sales service remain the most critical factor, as even the best car can result in a negative experience if support is lacking. Thus, when considering buying a Chinese car, buyers should inquire not only about the price but also about the availability of spare parts, the responsiveness of maintenance centers, and the overall ownership experience. What was once considered a risky option has now become acceptable and even desired. Chinese cars have proven their place in Saudi Arabia, indicating that quality is no longer exclusive to Japanese or German manufacturers. The continued improvements from manufacturers suggest that these cars are not just a fleeting trend but an integral part of the future of roads in Saudi Arabia.

According to statistics from the General Authority for Statistics, the number of new and used vehicles imported into the Kingdom exceeded 51 million by the first quarter of 2024, with a value exceeding 83 billion Saudi Riyals. Saudi Arabia is classified as the largest car market in the Arab world. A report by “FoxTwo Motors,” an American expert in global car markets, indicated that total car sales of all types in 2022 surpassed 1.7 million vehicles, with 36% of these sales occurring in Saudi Arabia, showing a 7.1% increase from the previous year. The report highlighted that the expansion in the automotive sector has led to Saudi Arabia’s market becoming one of the top 20 vehicle markets globally. The Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers stated that Chinese cars have seen widespread acceptance in North American, Middle Eastern, and European markets, with Mexico, UAE, Belgium, and Saudi Arabia ranking among the top five destinations for Chinese car imports. Data from a Chinese car network shows that Chinese car sales in Saudi Arabia for 2024 reached 107,339 vehicles, representing about 12.8% of the Saudi market for 2024. This reflects increasing consumer confidence in Chinese brands, which offer a combination of competitive pricing, quality, and modern technology.

Current Affairs and Cultural Reflections from Saudi Arabia

Here are the titles of the columns found in the newspaper, along with their first two paragraphs of detail, without any bolded text:

كلمة Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for its sister Syria comes as an extension of its consistent stances and backing, aiming for stability, security, progress, and prosperity for the Syrian people. This support was highlighted by the Syrian President’s call, welcoming the arrangements and measures announced by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to contain recent events in Syria, expressing confidence in the Saudi government’s ability to achieve security. The Kingdom always calls for establishing the foundations of security that lead to stability, which in turn leads to prosperity, and its role is clear. In Syria’s stability, the Kingdom succeeded, during the President’s visit to Riyadh, and through the efforts of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in convincing Donald Trump to fully lift sanctions on Syria. The Foreign Minister stated: “The Kingdom, under the guidance of the Crown Prince, will be a pioneer in supporting the economic renaissance in Syria,” emphasizing that support for Syria and its people “will not stop”.

الدور الحيوي by هاني وفا The effective Saudi role in regional stability is vital for stability and development. Development cannot occur without stability, and progress towards a better future is impossible unless the primary element is stability.

حماية الأطفال رقميًا.. مبادرة سعودية by طلحة الأنصاري The Kingdom is witnessing rapid growth in children’s use of smart devices, digital applications, and the internet, which has raised increasing concerns about their privacy. The representative of the Kingdom in the Human Rights Council at the United Nations affirmed that the digital space has a dual nature: it is an opportunity for learning and interaction, but it also carries risks that require national and international frameworks for child protection. International organizations also believe that children are a vulnerable group whose personal data may be exploited for commercial or other purposes without their consent or awareness or that of their parents. Local data indicates that Saudi children’s reliance on digital devices begins at an early age and increases significantly. A study issued by a Saudi university showed that 74% of Saudi children (ages 5–16 years) can access a tablet or computer, and the average age for a child’s first internet-connected device is 7 years. Official statistics indicate that 32.07% of children (5–7 years) use digital devices for one to two hours daily, while 25.78% of them use devices for less than one hour. A recent study shows that the average time a Saudi child (5–9 years old) spends on mobile devices reaches about two hours and 42 minutes daily, while about 23.4% of children use the internet regularly at least.

تكنولوجيا جديدة لتحويل تشغيل المجمعات الصناعية وفق منظومة متكاملة by حازم بن حسين The industrial sector today is developing at an accelerating pace, becoming giant industrial facilities that extend over millions of square meters. These facilities contain hundreds of buildings and accommodate tens of thousands of workers, and they are no longer just an expansion of traditional factories; rather, they have transformed into integrated operational systems, similar to self-operating cities, where every operational decision may reflect investments worth billions of dollars, according to Richard Morel, managing director of operations at Engie Solutions. Morel added that this transformation requires a radical change in the traditional methods of facilities management. Traditional management approaches, which focus on maintenance and cost control, cannot cope with the challenges of these giant industrial projects. Hence, the necessity arises to adopt a new model that elevates facilities management from its supportive operational role to a pivotal strategic specialization within the business ecosystem.

حين تكون السعادة على هيئة شخص! by محمد العتيبي We are the children of societies where love is not declared but practiced in silence. We love when we feel safe, not when we drown others with questions. We test sincerity in a glance, not by the abundance of words, and we know that whoever truly loves you will not tire you in proving their feelings; they will just be there whenever life throws you off balance. In our desert life, just as our dry and boisterous days pass in their scorching heat, without shade or quenching, then some people come as if like rain, as if life has decided to apologize for its harshness by giving us happiness in the form of a person. They are not loud or showy, they do not intrude on you like a surprising stranger but rather seep into you like something you once knew and just forgot its name. That person is not a miracle-worker, but the one life gives you makes ordinary details worth living. They remind you that fatigue does not exhaust you much when you share, and that coffee is more beautiful when there is someone who embraces your soul before your body. In cities where we live on wheels and grow on wheels, we need someone to slow down time for us. We also need a moment of oblivion, and we need someone to redefine things for us; the meaning of reassurance, and the meaning of being seen in the eyes of one person, even if the eyes of the world are absent from you.

انعكاس by إبراهيم الوافي Adaptation is crucial and pivotal in anthropology because it aims to balance the behaviors and social structures of societies with their values and beliefs. It contributes to creating a moderate and healthy environment. However, attempting to change the world or tame it according to our desires is a futile attempt, and a naive effort that compels us to integrate into everything, because success and arrival require us to deal with everyone and all communities. We are obliged to deal with everyone because we do not live in this world alone; rather, we live with others and apply many societal partnerships in most aspects of our lives, whether in work, study, cultural environments, or voluntary fields, and other shared practices. Perhaps in ancient times, the harmony between people was easier, and social relationships were more flexible, where we find people and communities limited by knowledge and skills. Under the shadow of current times, however, where most events and things, whether stories, situations, problems, or needs, are similar, refusing social modernization is nothing but an absurd act. The transformation of the world into a small village has led to the entry of cultures, the development of concepts, and even the divergence of thought among individuals within the same society. Adaptation does not mean abandoning values or principles, nor does it mean refusing serious attempts at modification. Instead, it means integrating with others, embracing diverse aspects, and accepting differences. Adaptation helps build positive social relationships with others in various family, practical, and cultural contexts.

صوتان أحالهما شعر by د. نجوى الكحلوت Since the Arab used to cross vast deserts on the back of his camel and use sound as a bridge to longing, and echo as another window for expression, poetry was born in its first garment, a Huda (camel-driving song), that was not a written text but the echo of what a sad heart would murmur in a desolate desert, an echo that emerged from his longing for the ruins and memories around him. The Huda, which is said to camels to make them quicken their pace, was not just a sound, but the primitive form of Arabic poetry, to be heard and spoken rather than read. The meaning of poetry was born from the heart before the mind molded it. Arabic poetry was sung, and for a long time remained associated with sound. And even if later anthologies preserved poems, it was sound that brought them out to people and embedded them in their consciousness. The relationship between poetry and singing inherently carries this shared origin, even if its forms have changed. With the emergence of the modern Arabic song in its complete artistic form, poetry returned to its sonic origins, but within new conditions imposed by melody, rhythm, and audience. Here, an artistic and cultural dilemma began to pose itself: Does singing dissipate the poem and lead it to triumph and presence, or does it weaken it artistically? And does sound, when it elevates the text, grant it immortality or diminish it?

قطار الرياض.. فلسفة الحياة ومسارات التعايش by د. مازن بن عبدالمحسن ابن شاهين The Riyadh train project breathes new life into the heart of Riyadh, opening new horizons in shaping the relationship between man and the city. It is the “Riyadh train” project, a project characterized by the principles of continuity, sustainability, and continuous development. This project symbolizes a new path towards a broader and more comprehensive horizon, as it goes beyond the idea of infrastructure and merely facilitating movement to building a “system” that is social, humanitarian, cultural, and philosophical, drawing new features for shared living and human understanding. The train is not just a vehicle that runs on railway tracks; rather, it is an open interactive space where human destinies intersect, and human relationships are reshaped, far from barriers, classifications, and backgrounds. The train represents the philosophy of “the third place”; that space which mediates between home and work, where man finds himself part of the broadest fabric of relationships that may seem “transient” in principle. However, they transcend the concept of partiality and temporality to become an important entry point for shaping the “open identity,” even if one only sojourns in it for a temporary stay. This spatial environment is, in fact, a miniature melting pot for all the differences it embraces, with all their backgrounds, temperaments, perspectives, and specializations, from within the single society.

ف الأمل ومفارقاته by نجوى العمري The word “hope” derives from the root “amal” in Arabic dictionaries, meaning anticipation and expectation accompanied by a desire for something desired to happen. Linguists have differentiated between hope and wishful thinking; wishful thinking may be mere imagination without a basis, while hope usually relies on a reason that makes its fulfillment expected. Nevertheless, usage varies between different aspects, so “hope” has become a flexible word, beyond what dictionaries define, oscillating between light and darkness, between beautiful anticipation and harsh waiting. Is all hope, hope? It is said that hope is what keeps man alive and drives him to continue facing difficulties. It is the ray of light at the end of the tunnel, and the invisible hand that pushes us towards tomorrow despite the twists and turns of today. But can this saving ray turn into a dagger that pierces the heart? Can hope, with all its promises, become a slow killer?

ذرهم وما يفترون by عوضة بن علي الدوسي When the Quran presents this gentle meaning, it aims for some people’s statements to be ignored. This comes as an affirmation of the conscious discourse of the concept of leaving them, lest their illusions swell and become scars and wrinkles on the body of culture, or their platforms turn into sites for fabrications and engaging in blind discourse and tangled tongues, thereby entering into intentional or unintentional polemics, producing no benefit from them. This wide scope and clear indication manifest in a state of elevation and sublimation. However, the preacher and discourse in this context could devolve into a state of conflict, and it does not aim for man to bypass trifles towards higher levels of giving, where good continues and benefit and high noble goals are achieved, so that man is within the circle of goodness based on the principle of “You were the best nation”. The results of experiments teach us that constructive criticism is what leads us to knowledge, and through it, discussion expands, and consequently, we achieve positive results that can be benefited from, because the basis of all criticism is personal taste supported by a faculty that appears with the emergence of another culture.

د. الحميد يقارب «الاقتصاد الثقافي» برؤية تحليلية by د. عبدالواحد الحميد A new book by Dr. Abdulwahed bin Khalid Al-Hamid has been published by Prince Abdulrahman Sudeiri Cultural Center, titled: “The Cultural Economy: Culture and Creativity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”. It is a work that sheds light on the close relationship between culture and economy through analyzing the meaning of economic value versus aesthetic and artistic value for culture, and exploring the economic impact of cultural policies and governmental and non-governmental support. The book focuses on the concept of cultural economy as one of the sectors of the macroeconomy, and the resulting enhancement and expansion of the national economy, especially under Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify income sources, reduce reliance on oil, and launch non-traditional sectors as levers for growth. In his introduction, the author points out that filling a gap in the Arab library in the field of cultural economy was the motive behind this book, and an attempt to answer a central question: How does culture intersect with economy in the context of public policies?

صُبابَة القول by د. فهد إبراهيم البكر If we accept Michel Onfray’s thesis that “there is no civilization without a text, which makes it possible,” then every civilization is governed by a paradox: its birth is rooted in a text that establishes it and makes it possible, yet at the same time, it is carried and governed by the necessities of development and liberation, requiring a break with or transcendence of that text. So to what extent does Ghislain Martin’s phrase represent a radical liberation from the religious and theological obstacles that continually prevent the intellect’s emancipation and human liberation? Ghislain Martin defends the idea of the possibility of a “Muslim Spinozism” as a horizon for hope and liberation. This possibility is absolutely unchallengeable, which explains Michel Onfray’s strong objection to the idea that “the existence of Muslim Spinozists is impossible as long as the Quranic text establishes human existence in its philosophical and historical form”. Her objection to the denial of the possibility of Muslim Spinozists from her perspective is a denial of any hope for intellectual emancipation and human liberation.

هوّيتنا المسافرة by نجلاء الربيعان He smiles with pleasure, fastens his suitcase strap, even takes a picture, and walks gleefully towards the departure gate. The promised journey indeed seems filled with days of joy. But did he travel alone, or did he carry his culture, which is not merely an ornament carried in his passport, but his true passport when he travels outside his homeland? And because people do not see him as he sees himself, but rather as he behaves, some begin to hide their true language at the first moment they feel ashamed of it. Some even feel ashamed of their name, and some forget their values and traditions. Every citizen who is ignorant of their culture cannot reflect it. And whoever does not feel belonging to their roots will not receive loyalty in their solitude. Some of us do not know that their culture is not carried in the passport, but rather in the attitude, the behavior, and the language. I have traveled to many countries and seen the deepest truth: that the homeland is not found in spending lavishly or in a smile of arrogance, not in the clamor of presence. We must realize that every citizen, when traveling, is a window to their homeland for the world, and that the values are expressed through simple daily behavior, not just through statements (how you stand in line, how you ask, how you smile, and how you apologize… and so on, regarding the ethics of a true citizen). Being a Saudi citizen does not mean just talking about oil, horses, or dates; rather, it means showing that this homeland has nurtured sons who know how to behave in everything, who are forbidden from doing wrong, who understand, who are distinguished by awareness, and who speak with confidence and calmness.

الفيلسوف الأخير by د. البشير لسيود Does one who has written only one novel have the right to be called a novelist? This question seems simple, but in its depth, it touches upon the essence of creativity, the meaning of continuity, and re-examines the relationship between quantity and uniqueness, between the path and the essence. In a world where publishing is accelerating, and novels proliferate on library shelves—sometimes unread or unmentioned—it seems many still believe that a writer’s success is measured by the number of their publications. This belief has driven some writers to excessive production at the expense of quality, forgetting that value is not confined to repetition, but to impact. The history of the novel testifies to names that shone with a single novel, yet it did not fade, but remained present in literary memory, read, taught, and quoted, while others wrote dozens of works that left no trace. These are not few, but a wide spectrum of creators, whose reasons for contentment varied between those whom death overtook, those shaken by failure or satiated by success, and those who remained silent in protest, or withdrew content with what they had said.

هل تنتمي التداولية إلى العلوم الإمبريقية؟ by د. سوسن العتيبي From my point of view, what is admirable in Tonissen’s argument is his precise epistemological awareness and his insistence on deconstructing the overlap between methodologies without simplification. He successfully demonstrated the hybrid, interdisciplinary nature of pragmatics as a field where the rational intertwines with the empirical, and the normative with the descriptive. He truly excelled in differentiating between the normative approach, as seen in Habermas, and the descriptive approach, as seen in Grice, and in highlighting that both do not fully adhere to the conditions of empirical sciences. And it can be said that pragmatics is not an empirical science in absolute terms, but it includes units of analysis that can be subjected to control and observation, especially when it is linked to discourse in real social contexts. I would add that the development of AI tools and computational discourse analysis may open up a horizon for testing some of the concepts of pragmatics in controlled environments, which enhances the possibility of building a relative empirical model for concepts we once thought were outside the realm of science.

محاكمة الآلة by د. عبدالله بن محمد العمري When we write on a Word file through our devices, we are not writing on paper with a pen. It is not a complete simulation of writing with a pen. In the time when the relationship between us, the writer, the tool, and the paper is a closed, tripartite relationship, it is different in the case of Word. The medium is not a lifeless object that we bring to life; it is a program, and the program is within a software suite, and the program itself probably does not keep secrets. It is likely to collect all information within an algorithmic scope from the first moment of writing, and perhaps even before its completion or saving, as long as there is an internet connection. This applies to all office programs (MS Office) and other programs we write on in any format. The truth is, I don’t know why I started with this introduction, even though this guess might be correct. I am trying to write about something that has happened to the Grok program, which has been subjected to “trial,” and I cannot find a more appropriate metaphorical or figurative description for what happened to Grok due to its antisemitism.

توصيات by حسين الحربي In this column, the consultant, intellectual researcher, and writer, Dr. Abdullah bin Yousef Al-Dini, who has authored and contributed to dozens of peer-reviewed research papers for international research centers, and actively participated in many conferences around the world, will take us through the factors of reading by sharing what he has recently reviewed and recommending them to readers. “A Concise History of Islam” by Karen Armstrong: This book offers a comprehensive horizontal view of the history of Islam from its beginnings to the modern era, seen through the eyes of a Western, non-specialist, and unbiased researcher. What attracted me to the book is its ability to present the major stations with a calm narrative that internalizes the historical context without falling into reductionism, and its eagerness to highlight the spiritual and political dimensions together. It is useful for anyone who wants to understand the general context of early Islamic history and its evolution until the moment of the caliphate’s fall and the emergence of national states.

ابنة ليليت.. رواية لا تفلت القارئ by د. عبدالملك السباعي The news of “Lilith’s Daughter” novel by the creative writer Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Shammari winning and its selection among the top three Saudi novels to be adapted into a cinematic screenplay spread. I decided to read it, and fortunately, as I managed to get to the narrator himself, his features appeared to me; he seemed a gentle man, whose long years and diverse experiences and deep readings had refined him into a kind person. This encouraged me to communicate with him personally. “Lilith’s Daughter” is a text overflowing with soft narrative and striking precision in artistic construction. What I read is known in mythology as Lilith; she embodies the myth of the rebellious female over the authority of men and the patriarchal society. Al-Shammari skillfully invoked her to serve as a deep mirror for the voice of the protagonist, “Jawaher,” an intelligent student of mixed origin (Saudi mother, Indian father). She begins her journey studying medicine but then collides with a painful reality after her mother is deprived of inheritance by her brother and forced to leave the country.

يا دارة دوري فينا by د. منى علي الحمود The circle in its geometric form extends beyond its circumference to its essence. Children, by choosing the circle as their artistic journey begins, are improving their ability to form symbolic perceptual understandings, becoming ready for the next stage which will be their unique artistic identity stamped on their works. Anyone contemplating the circle realizes that despite being a two-dimensional shape, not extending to the third dimension, it possesses a fourth dimension: its philosophical, existential, and ethical dimension. The circle is defined as a collection of points that are equidistant from a specific point in the center called “the center”. Thus, every point enjoys the same ability and validity to connect and reach the center, and indeed, the distance from each of two equal points on a circle to the center is equal. This is where the description of a meeting at a round table as democratic came from, implying no centrality or singularity of opinion.

مفهوم «الكاتبة» يربك عصر النهضة by تركية العمري The book “Women and Literature in Britain 1500-1700” was not an ordinary book. It discusses the “woman writer” in the Renaissance era, tracking this concept which intertwines with complex cultural, social, political, religious, and gender contexts. The book also raises the issue of the role of women and the role of the woman writer in the Renaissance era, an issue that continues to cast its shadow from the Renaissance to the present. When I delved into the book “Women and Literature in Britain,” I realized the importance of reading about writers like those years ago. Despite the book talking about women and literature in Renaissance Britain, it touches upon the struggles of women writers across all ages and societies for their voices to be heard, for their minds to express themselves.

الإنتاج المؤسسي وتشكيل الذوق العام by د. ملحة عبدالله In the midst of the accelerating digital world, wars are no longer fought solely with weapons. Instead, the word, the truncated phrase, and the image have become powerful tools capable of shaping public opinion and changing the orientations of societies, especially within what is known as “narrative warfare,” which employs systematic patterns of discourse aimed at confusion, distortion, and undermining the trust of peoples. With our ingrained certainty that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with its leadership and institutions, is a global and regional force and a pivotal hub, it has been and continues to be a target for such campaigns, particularly through social media. These campaigns manifest in multiple narratives, but the most prominent are: deception, exaggeration, selectivity, and fabrication. These are not random methods but deliberate patterns sometimes managed from dark rooms on screens, and sometimes under fake names attempting to impersonate the voice of the internal population while representing external agendas. Deception is the most dangerous of these patterns because it does not rely on outright lies, but rather on mixing truth with falsehood and presenting information in a guise that deceives the recipient into believing its veracity, while in essence it is deceptive.

السرديات الموجهة ضد المملكة: الفبركة في عصر التشويش by د. عبدالعزيز اليوسف The counter-narratives are not merely an attack on a nation, but a test of the extent of our awareness and readiness for conscious participation in the digital space. Therefore, our battle against misinformation, fabrication, and deception is not solely security-related or technical, but fundamentally cultural, intellectual, and media-related. We win it when we realize that protecting the homeland begins in the mind, extends to the word, and is reflected in conscious digital behavior. It remains to be said: Saudi Arabia is strong with its vision, fortified by the awareness of its people, and its defense is not mere shouting but awareness. It cannot be defeated by a lie or a fabricated image. However, as citizens, we must realize that our country is always targeted, and there are those who continuously try on every occasion, situation, and period to create sensational content, instigate chaos and unrest, and stir up trouble. They know and acknowledge the truths internally, but they deny the clean Saudi reality to serve their own pockets. They trample on rights and dress up falsehood, and their tongues are steeped in deceit and misguidance.

الريادة والتفوق A department employee provides excellent, pioneering ideas and solutions for existing problems. The head of the department conveys these ideas to the general manager, who in turn praises and thanks the head of the department for the achievements, without mentioning the department employee who originated these solutions and initiatives. In this way, he attributes them to himself! A confident manager understands that the success of his team is his success. He points to their success and is proud of them and does not fear their competition. The smart manager attracts competencies, trusts their abilities, leaves them room for creativity, and values their achievements. He also mentions and is proud of his team members’ names to upper management. This happens when the work environment is positive.

معادلة by محمد الحيدر The Kingdom has become an effective player in the global health system. Its role is no longer limited to providing care for its citizens only, but has extended to international leadership manifested in confronting major health challenges. It offers unique models in quality of care and innovation. This leadership is not a coincidence, but the fruit of an ambitious vision and conscious investment in building a world-class health sector. And because antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is considered one of the most dangerous threats to global health security in our current era, with severe economic, social, and health consequences, the Kingdom’s role as a global leader in confronting this worrying phenomenon has emerged. This global recognition confirms the Kingdom’s deep understanding of this challenge and its pivotal role in formulating and implementing effective global strategies and initiatives to combat the spread of resistance, ensuring the effectiveness of life-saving treatments for future generations. This is not just participation, but leadership that pushes international efforts forward.

حروفيات by أحمد الغنام The calligrapher Ibrahim Al-Araifi presented an artistic calligraphic work in which the beauty of the meaning and the originality of the art were manifested. The work included writing the holy verse: “And Allah would not punish them while you (O Muhammad) are among them”. Al-Araifi’s choice of gold in writing the verse in Diwani script was a testament to his appreciation for conveying the invaluable and special message of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and spreading the Muhammadan message and the nobility of morals, justice, and tolerance, and everything that elevates Islam and Muslims. Al-Araifi also used the Thuluth script in writing the verse “And Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness”. He chose the white color to indicate the purity and cleanliness required for the verse’s meaning and its implication of humility and supplication to Allah Almighty. He deliberately repeated “while they seek forgiveness” to highlight this meaning, thus aligning spiritual and aesthetic beauty.

Saudi Perspectives: From Global Health to Cultural Wonders

Here are the headings from the newspaper excerpts along with their first two paragraphs of detail:

  • كلمة (Word) This comes as an extension of the steadfast support and positions provided by the Kingdom to assist Syria and stand by its side towards achieving security, stability, progress, and prosperity that the Syrian people aspire to. The call from the Syrian President to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, who welcomed the President’s announcements of arrangements and procedures to contain the recent events in Syria, expressing the Syrian government’s confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to achieve security under His Excellency’s leadership. for sisterly Syria. The Kingdom always calls for establishing the foundations of security that lead to stability, which in turn leads to prosperity, and its role is clear. In ensuring Syria’s stability, the Kingdom succeeded during the visit of US President Donald Trump to Riyadh, and through the efforts of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in convincing Trump to fully lift sanctions on Syria. The Foreign Minister stated: “The Kingdom, under the guidance of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, will be a pioneer in supporting economic development in Syria,” emphasizing that “the work to support Syria and its people will not cease”.
  • الطائف.. وجهة سياحية متجددة (Taif.. A Renewed Tourist Destination) Taif (the ‘Bride of Resorts’) is famous for its charming nature and temperate climate, making it an attractive tourist destination throughout the ages, with its distinguished location in the west of the Kingdom. It belongs to the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region and is located on both sides of Wadi (Wajj). It is approximately 75 km away from Makkah Al-Mukarramah city and is surrounded by mountains from all directions. Its elevation above sea level ranges between 1700m and 2500m, which has given it a pleasant climate and made it a historical summer retreat for its residents and for nearby Saudi Hijazi cities like Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Jeddah.
  • حماية الأطفال رقميًا.. مبادرة سعودية (Digital Child Protection.. A Saudi Initiative) The Kingdom is witnessing rapid growth in children’s use of smart devices, the internet, and digital applications, which has raised increasing concern about their privacy. This is reflected in the Kingdom’s representative’s affirmation at the UN Human Rights Council that the digital space has a dual nature; it is an opportunity for learning and interaction but carries risks that require establishing national and international frameworks for child protection. International organizations also believe that children, as a vulnerable group, may have their personal data exploited for commercial or other purposes without their awareness or their parents’ consent. Local data indicates that Saudi children’s reliance on digital devices begins at an early age and significantly increases. A study from a Saudi university showed that 74% of Saudi children (ages 5–16 years) can access a tablet computer, and the average age for a child to own their first internet-connected device is 7 years. Official statistics show that 32.07% of children (5–7 years) use digital devices for one to two hours daily, while 25.78% use devices for less than an hour. A recent study reveals that the average time a Saudi child (5–9 years old) spends on mobile devices reaches approximately two hours and 42 minutes daily, with about 23.4% of children using the internet regularly at least.

  • خِشع القلوب (Hearts are Humbled) Who among us does not feel reverence when listening to his fragrant recitation, as this recitation of the entire Quran was recorded in 1389 AH, and since that date, the Holy Quran Radio has been broadcasting it. It became one of the famous recitations broadcast alongside other reciters such as Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husari, and Abdul Basit Abdul Samad, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdul Ghani Khayyat – may God have mercy on him – the teacher of princes, educator, and instructor. And the scholar’s sheikh, whom everyone who knew him or contacted him agreed that he was among the righteous ascetics and people of piety, devoutness, virtue, and noble character. He rarely left Makkah Al-Mukarramah and wished to be buried there, and God granted him his wish. He had a truthful friend with whom he shared teaching and studying, and they lived in one house in Riyadh and Makkah and married two sisters, the daughters of Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Razzaq Hamzah – may God have mercy on him – who was the educator and historian Ahmed bin Ali Al-Kazemi – may God have mercy on him.
  • عبدالله خياط.. أستاذ الأمراء (Abdullah Khayyat.. Professor of Princes) As I mentioned in previous topics, the first regular secondary school established during the reign of the founder King Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him – was the Scientific Institute. The school followed a modern system with limited curricula and a teacher for each subject, and algebra, engineering, English language, Arabic language, geography, and Hanbali jurisprudence were taught at the institute. Abdullah Khayyat – may God have mercy on him – graduated from the institute in 1350 AH. Our personality was known for good recitation, and his performance had a distinct method compared to other reciters of his time, which was recited in loud prayers, namely the deliberate hushing. For this, he was appointed as an imam in one of the mosques in Makkah, and after that, a royal decree was issued appointing him as an imam in the Grand Mosque as an assistant to his imam Sheikh Abdul Dhaher Abu Al-Samh, then our personality moved to become the director of the Princes’ School in Riyadh.
  • قطار الرياض.. فلسفة الحياة ومسارات التعايش (Riyadh Train.. Philosophy of Life and Paths of Coexistence) A project that revives the heart of Riyadh city and opens new horizons in shaping the human relationship with the city. It is the ‘Riyadh Train’ project, which embodies principles of continuous movement and communication from among projects. It symbolizes continuity, sustainability, and development, and a new beginning towards a broader and more inclusive horizon, because it transcends the idea of infrastructure and transport, which exclusively aims to facilitate movement, to achieve a ‘system’ of social, human, cultural, and philosophical construction that defines new features for shared living and human understanding. The train is not merely a vehicle running on railway tracks; rather, it is an open interactive space where human destinies intersect, and human relationships are reshaped far from barriers, classifications, and backgrounds.
  • الفيلسوف الأخير (The Last Philosopher) Does one who has written a single novel deserve to be called a novelist? A question that seems simple, but in its depth, it touches the essence of creativity, the meaning of continuity, and re-raises the relationship between quantity and uniqueness, between the path and the essence. In a world where publishing is accelerating and novels proliferate on library shelves – sometimes without being read or mentioned – it seems many still believe that a writer’s success is measured by the number of their publications.
  • محاكمة الآلة (Machine Trial) When we write on a (Word) file using the keyboard, we are not writing on paper with a pen; it is not a complete simulation of writing with a pen. The relationship between us and the paper is a triple, closed relationship: the writer, the writing tool, and the medium on which it is written. In the case of (Word), the situation is different, as the medium is not an inanimate object that we bring to life when there are no programs, and the program is part of a software suite. It has a tangible physical attribute; it is an algorithmic program within a scope where it is probable that all information is collected from the very first moment of writing, and perhaps during it.
  • مفهوم »الكاتبة« يربك عصر النهضة (The Concept of “Female Writer” Disrupts the Renaissance Era) If we accept Onfray’s thesis that there is no “civilization without a text that makes it possible,” then every civilization is governed by a paradox of its origin: it is defined by a text that establishes it and makes it possible on one hand, and by the necessities of development and liberation through subverting, breaking with, or transcending that text on the other. To what extent, then, does Martine Ghislain’s expression of the Spinozist Muslim option represent a radical liberation from the religious and theological obstacles that continually prevent the emancipation of reason and human liberation?.
  • السعودية.. قوة صحية عالمية (Saudi Arabia.. A Global Health Power) The Kingdom is no longer just an active number in the global health system; its role has extended beyond providing care for its citizens to become a global leader, evident in confronting major health challenges. This leadership is not a result of chance, but the fruit of an ambitious vision and conscious investment in building a world-class health sector. Because antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is considered one of the most dangerous challenges threatening global health security in our era, due to its severe economic, social, and health consequences, the Kingdom’s role has emerged as a global leader in confronting this alarming phenomenon, as it had the honor of hosting the Global Summit on antimicrobial resistance.
  • الشرقة” أثناء النوم من أكثر الأمراض شيوعًا” (Snoring during sleep is one of the most common diseases) Sleep apnea, whose symptoms include annoying snoring and choking, and ‘gasping’ during sleep, is considered one of the most common diseases at present. This disease causes sleep disturbances at night, drowsiness, fatigue, and poor concentration during the day, and it has many organic complications on important body organs such as the heart and brain. The disease results from narrowing of the upper airway (pharynx) during sleep, which leads to repeated complete or partial constriction of the throat. This causes a severe and repeated lack of oxygen in the blood, which releases oxidative factors in the blood, raises blood pressure, stimulates the nervous system related to stress, and releases stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol in large quantities.
  • الريال في المقدمة واليونايتد ثانيًا رغم تراجع النتائج والبطولات (Real in the Lead and United Second Despite Declining Results and Titles) Fans of the ‘beautiful game’ enjoyed beautiful days with the first expanded edition of the Club World Cup. In this tournament, with the development of social media towards media, and its full dominance. The focus has shifted to details, and other different entities and data have emerged compared to the previous era.
  • منصور عبدالله: الهلال النموذج الأوروبي في آسيا وبيئته الأفضل على مستوى الشرق الأوسط (Mansour Abdullah: Al Hilal is the European Model in Asia and its Environment is the Best in the Middle East) In light of the significant momentum witnessed by the sports sector in the Gulf, Al Riyadh newspaper met with the Emirati sports expert and professor, Mansour Abdullah, who specializes in developing sports projects and businesses, and has unique experience in sports transformation initiatives in both the public and private sectors in the Middle East. In this interview with Mansour Abdullah, we delve with him into the axes of investment, brands, asset valuation, data, and future opportunities.
  • السعوديات الأعلى احترافًا في الألعاب الإلكترونية (Saudi Women are the Most Professional in Electronic Games) The provided sources do not contain two paragraphs of detail directly supporting this heading. The text immediately following this heading in the source pertains to a different topic, “Record Heatwave in Moscow”.
  • موجة حر قياسية في موسكو (Record Heatwave in Moscow) Moscow, the capital, has been experiencing a high heatwave for 30 years, as unprecedented record temperatures of up to 35 degrees Celsius have been recorded. The Meteorological Authority expected the heatwave to continue in Russia, central Russia, and southern Europe, indicating that temperatures have exceeded average rates by 3 to 8 degrees Celsius.
  • طبيب يترك مهنته ليربي الذباب (Doctor Leaves His Profession to Raise Flies) The former Cuban doctor, Yudermis Hernandez Diaz, works on raising black soldier flies, whose larvae can be used as food for fish, which earns him more money than any gains he made from practicing medicine previously. In a rural workshop on the outskirts of Havana, Diaz raises flies. As is the case in most parts of Cuba, the equipment and tools he uses are handmade from whatever he can collect.
  • معرض الوحي (The Revelation Exhibition) The visitor to the Revelation Exhibition in Hira Cultural District in Makkah Al-Mukarramah enjoys a cognitive tour in an enriching cultural and tourist landmark, which contains within its corners stories that tell the beginning of the greatest story known to history, the story of the revelation descending upon Prophet Muhammad – peace be upon him – in addition to interactive displays and enriching scenes, and mixes stories about the prophets – peace be upon them – the distant past. Between learning, contemplation, and inspiration.
  • “عجائب أرض السعودية” في إكسبو أوساكا (“Wonders of Saudi Land” in Expo Osaka) The Saudi Tourism Authority presented many diverse sections in the “Wonders of Saudi Land” exhibition within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025, which transported visitors to the heart of the Kingdom to enjoy its cultural richness. This was achieved by highlighting Saudi heritage and authenticity through interactive screens, photo booths, inspiring experiences about Saudi and Japanese Arabic calligraphy, and workshops for traditional handicrafts such as pottery making and ornamentation, in addition to regions.
